  From CLB: Several thousand workers at the Chengdu Engine Factory, a military enterprise, went on strike from July 11 to 15, 2005. Following bankruptcy, the company only offered redundancy payments of 1,200 yuan for each year of employment, about one third the level designated by state bankruptcy policies. The workers said they had expressed their dissatisfaction with the offer many times but management did not respond and they were left with no option but to strike.
